MSoM is seeking a part-time front desk receptionist / office administrator.  

Montgomery School of Music is seeking an experienced front desk receptionist / administrative assistant for our growing community school of music.  This highly energetic individual should be passionate about creating a dynamic customer experience and providing a warm, welcoming environment.  He or she should be extremely comfortable serving as the first point of contact with clients to deliver a positive representation of our organization.

  • Provide exceptional customer service during every client encounter, displaying a professional attitude
  • Maintain professional demeanor and attire

  • Make and confirm appointments
  • Coordinate teachers’ schedules and studio room assignments
  • Process customer paper work in a timely manner
  • Communicate concerns or needs to the director on a regular basis
  • Maintain knowledge of MSoM programs and policies with the ability to communicate them to clients
  • Ordering front desk supplies and general upkeep of office
  • Assist with special events, student recitals, and guest artists’ concerts
  • Process retail sales and manage small inventory
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates Degree in business, management or similar studies a plus
  • 1 year of receptionist / administrative assistant experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • General computer software skills to include email platforms, Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, & Powerpoint), Mac Office Products (e.g. Pages, Numbers, and Keynote), and Adobe Acrobat
  • Computer hardware/software troubleshooting
  • Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with exemplary multi-tasking aptness
  • Superb written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with Apple products
  • Knowledge of general music theory a plus
  • Knowledge of Mindbody software a plus.  Those with certificates in Mindbody are given top priority.  

This position’s starting pay is 9.00 / hr.  Higher rates are contingent on skill set and experience.  The hours are Monday - Friday 2:15 -7:00 p.m. and Saturdays 9:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.  Closing times may vary depending on customer scheduling. Candidate should be prepared to stay longer if necessary.
